About Us
Melange (French, verb): to blend or mix. Melange apothecary opened in July 2007. Our goal is to provide our customers with a beautiful relaxed environment to custom-fragrance their own products and to offer home and personal care products from small and wonderful companies worldwide who share our commitment to detail and excellence. Other lines we stock include Claus Porto, Lafco New York House & Home, Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, BOD Australia, Linari, Potter & Moore, Abahna London, Cote Bastide, MOR, Sara Happ, 100% Pure, Crazy Libuellule Paris, Seda France and La Compagnie De Provence. We bring in new items regularly. The Melange fragrance bar stocks 80 permanent fragrances and essential oils, plus limited edition fragrances and seasonal offerings. We continue to add new fragrances regularly. Many of our fragrances and blends are one of a kind and available only here. Fragrances are cataloged by type and presented to customers with a outline of each scent. Our customers can sit, explore & create personal fragrances at their leisure anytime during our normal business hours. It is our belief that exploring and creating fragrance should be fun, interesting and accessible. We use minimal packaging for our products and keep the emphasis where we believe it belongs -- on your fragrance and product inside the bottle. This also keeps our pricing within reach for more people. Prices for our custom blended products range from $18 to $42.Customers can choose from a wide variety of products for blending, including Eau de Parfum spray, Parfum Concentrate in roller (2 sizes), Home Ambiance Diffusor, Body Creme, Body Lotion (2 formulas), Bath and Shower (4 formulas), Bath Salts, Body Oil or Sugar Scrub with Honey and Shea Butter. We blend using precise measurements and meticulous attention to detail. The finished product is labeled and formulas are recorded on private customer profiles for their future use. Small pre-blended batches of Body Cream, Eau de Parfum, Body Wash and Home Ambiance Diffusors are prepared weekly for gifts and customers on-the-go. Concrete Parfums (solid fragrances prepared by blending fragrance with Jojoba and beeswax) are prepared in different fragrances twice monthly by owner Denise Estrada. Melange also offers Blending Events, get- togethers for small groups held evenings after the store closes - available by reservation; and classes on Perfume Making and Skin Care designed to be informative, hands-on and fun. Previous to Melange, owners Denise and Rick Estrada founded the Essenza & 155 South apothecaries in Brentwood, CA, until 2003. They continued to collect fragrances, consult and consider details for their next store.... Melange is the culmination of their many wish lists.
